architectural framing

Films in which the built environment and geometric spatial composition function as primary expressive instruments — the frame is organized around architectural logic (symmetry, depth, planes, corridors, thresholds, voids) such that space itself carries meaning, power, and psychological weight rather than serving as neutral backdrop. Distinguished from 'sleek-modern' (which is about surface aesthetic polish, not spatial argumentation) by requiring that architecture actively structures the film's meaning; distinguished from 'static-framing' (which is about camera stasis) by allowing camera movement so long as the architectural logic of the space dominates the frame.
