You Were Never Really Here

Joe (Joaquin Phoenix) is a traumatized fixer hired to find a politician's kidnapped daughter and dismantle the trafficking ring that took her. He moves through New York with a hammer and a void where most people have a self. What tethers him to anything at all is his mother (Judith Roberts), waiting in their apartment, and the girl he's meant to save, whose face becomes the only thing that matters more than the violence.
