Why Him?

“Of all the guys his daughter could have chosen...”

Ned Fleming (Bryan Cranston) arrives at his daughter's house for Christmas and meets Laird Mayhew (James Franco), her boyfriend, a tech billionaire who throws money and crude jokes at every social interaction. Ned sees a proposal coming and decides to sabotage it before Laird can ask Stephanie (Zoey Deutch) to marry him. By the end, Ned has to reckon with what his daughter actually wants, separate from what he thinks she needs.
