Toronto, 2002: Meilin Lee (Rosalie Chiang) is a confident thirteen-year-old living above her family's dim sum restaurant, close to her mother Ming (Sandra Oh). When she gets flustered or angry, she transforms into a giant red panda, a family secret she never knew she carried. Domee Shi animates the city in warm reds and golds, and lets the mess of growing up live right there on screen.
