Gary the Snail vanishes, stolen by the King of Lost Things, and SpongeBob sets out across the ocean to Atlantic City to bring him home. Patrick (Bill Fagerbakke) tags along on the chase, and the two of them tumble through a series of impossible places where they meet a mysterious sage (Keanu Reeves) and discover what they mean to each other. By the time SpongeBob finds Gary, the real rescue is remembering why they need each other at all.
