The Ninth Gate

In the world of rare books, Dean Corso (Johnny Depp) is a dealer willing to buy and sell anything. He accepts a commission from a wealthy collector, Boris Balkan (Frank Langella), to authenticate an obscure 17th-century volume said to hold the power to summon the Devil himself. As Corso hunts down the book's nine engravings across Europe, the people around him begin to die, and he realizes that finishing this task may cost him far more than money.
