A deep-sea rescue mission goes wrong when Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) and his team encounter a 75-foot megalodon prowling the Pacific floor. Suyin (Li Bingbing) and the crew must find a way to contain the prehistoric shark before it reaches the surface and the crowded beaches beyond. Turteltaub keeps the pressure mounting through each descent, letting the confined spaces and the creature's speed do the work of terror.
