The Machinist

“How do you wake up from a nightmare if you’re not asleep?”

Trevor Reznik (Christian Bale) hasn't slept in a year, and he believes someone is watching him. Working as a machinist in a factory where small accidents pile up, he moves through his shifts in a fog of paranoia, barely eating, chain-smoking through the nights. What matters most to him is Stevie (Jennifer Jason Leigh), a fragile woman he visits, and that bond is all that keeps him tethered to anything at all.
