The House That Jack Built

Over twelve years in Washington State, Jack (Matt Dillon) commits a series of calculated murders and recounts them to a mysterious figure he calls Verge (Bruno Ganz). Each killing is presented as a lesson, a refinement of method, a step toward some private architecture of purpose. The film circles back through Jack's logic and his companion's silence, asking what happens when a killer tries to justify himself to the one person willing to listen.
