In 1954, Ray Kroc (Michael Keaton), a middle-aged milkshake-machine salesman, discovers a small hamburger stand in San Bernardino run by brothers Dick (Nick Offerman) and Mac McDonald (John Carroll Lynch). The restaurant operates with mechanical precision, each step planned and timed. Kroc becomes convinced he can franchise it into a nationwide chain, but his hunger to build an empire leaves little room for the men who built the original.
