A former Mafia boss and his family are relocated to a small French village under witness protection, given new identities by FBI handler Robert Stansfield (Tommy Lee Jones). Fred Blake (Robert De Niro) tries to stay clean while his wife Maggie (Michelle Pfeiffer) and their teenage children slip back into old habits. What holds them together through the chaos is the only thing that matters: they are a family, and they protect their own.
