Grug (Nicolas Cage) leads his prehistoric family by forbidding anything new or risky, until a clever stranger named Guy (Ryan Reynolds) arrives with strange ideas. As the Croods trek toward a rumored safer land, Grug's grip loosens and Guy's innovations keep them alive through dangers Grug never imagined.
