The Banshees of Inisherin

“Everything was fine yesterday.”

Pádraic Súilleabháin (Colin Farrell) shows up at his best friend's cottage on a remote Irish island when Colm Doherty (Brendan Gleeson) tells him their friendship is over and will not explain. Pádraic cannot accept this severance and keeps returning, while Colm cuts off a finger each time he sees him. Some bonds snap because one person decides they must, and the other has no choice but to let them break.
