Steve Jobs (Michael Fassbender) wants to change the world, and each time he stands before a crowd to unveil a new machine, he is trying to prove he belongs there. The film moves through three product launches across fourteen years, each one a collision backstage with Joanna Hoffman (Kate Winslet) and Steve Wozniak (Seth Rogen). Boyle shoots these moments as theater, all velocity and sharp angles, the pressure building in real time before the curtain rises.
