Michael Rezendes (Mark Ruffalo), Walter Robinson (Michael Keaton), and Sacha Pfeiffer (Rachel McAdams) are journalists at The Boston Globe's Spotlight team. In 2001, their new editor Marty Baron (Liev Schreiber) points them toward a buried story: a priest accused of abuse, quietly shuffled away by the Church. What begins as one man's history unravels into decades of coverup, each thread pulling them deeper into what the institution protected.
