Sound of Metal

“Music was his world. Then silence revealed a new one.”

Ruben Stone (Riz Ahmed) is a metal drummer touring in a van with his bandmate and girlfriend Lou (Olivia Cooke) when his hearing starts to fail. He enters a recovery house run by Joe (Paul Raci), a deaf man who speaks sign language and runs group sessions in a converted warehouse. Ruben fights against the life taking shape around him, unable to accept what his body is telling him, until Lou has to decide whether to wait or move forward alone.
