Joe (Tony Curtis) and Jerry (Jack Lemmon) are two jazz musicians in Chicago who witness a mob killing and run for their lives. To shake the gangsters hunting them, they join an all-women's band heading to Miami, disguising themselves as Josephine and Daphne. On the train south, Joe falls hard for Sugar Kane Kowalczyk (Marilyn Monroe), the band's singer, while desire and deception tighten around them both.
