“Great trilogies come in threes.”

Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris) receives a mysterious videotape that kills anyone who watches it within seven days. She teams up with her friend Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall) and a news reporter (Charlie Sheen) to track down the tape's origin before time runs out. By the end, Cindy sits alone in her apartment, the television glowing in the dark, waiting to see what happens when the clock strikes zero.
