“1 out of every 8 Americans is afraid of flying. Most of them don't have feathers.”

Blu (Jesse Eisenberg), a domesticated macaw living in Minnesota, is the last male of his kind. He's transported to Rio de Janeiro to meet Jewel (Anne Hathaway), the last female, and together they might save their species from extinction. But the moment they meet, they're swept into the city's underworld, where poachers and smugglers will stop at nothing to keep them caged.
