“How do you break free without breaking apart?”

Frank and April Wheeler want out of their Connecticut suburb and the marriage curdling inside it. Frank (Leonardo DiCaprio) dreams of reinvention; April (Kate Winslet) plans a move to Paris. As the plan takes shape, the weight of their children, their jobs, and the people around them begins to press down, until one evening Frank stands alone in their darkened living room, the house holding nothing but silence.
