Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) wants his young daughter back after she vanishes on Thanksgiving afternoon. Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) starts with a suspect and a lead, but the case splinters as Keller's desperation pushes him toward violence the law forbids. Villeneuve builds the pressure in long, airless scenes where every clue hardens into dread, and the frame itself seems to contract around the men searching.
