“Play for the planet.”

Brenner (Adam Sandler), a former video-game champion, gets a second chance when alien invaders attack Earth using 1980s arcade games as their weapon. He recruits his old gaming rivals, including the trash-talking Eddie (Peter Dinklage) and his best friend Cooper (Kevin James), now the President, to fight back. What matters most turns out to be the bond between Brenner and Violet (Michelle Monaghan), a military scientist who sees him for who he actually is.
