Philadelphia
“No one would take on his case... until one man was willing to take on the system.”
Philadelphia in 1993 is a city where a prestigious law firm fires Andrew Beckett (Tom Hanks) once they learn he is gay and dying of AIDS. Andrew approaches Joe Miller (Denzel Washington), a personal injury lawyer with his own prejudices to reckon with. As they build their case in court, the trial becomes less about winning damages than about whether the law can recognize a man's humanity when the world is ready to discard it.
