Patch Adams

“Laughter is contagious.”

Hunter Adams (Robin Williams) enters medical school determined to break every rule: he clowns in the halls, throws parties in the dorm, and talks to patients as if they are human beings instead of their diseases. His mentor Mitch (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and the dean (Bob Gunton) clash over what a doctor should be. Adams pushes toward a radical idea: that laughter and genuine connection might matter as much as the instruments on a cart.
