Dr. Atsuko Chiba has developed a device that lets therapists enter their patients' dreams, and as Paprika, her alter ego, she guides people through their nightmares. When someone steals the device and starts weaponizing it, flooding Tokyo with shared nightmares, Atsuko must chase the thief through landscapes where logic dissolves. Kon layers image upon image until what remains is neither one nor the other, a city folding in on itself.
