Once Upon a Time in America

Noodles (Robert De Niro) is a street kid in 1920s New York with a gang of boys who steal and scheme, bound by loyalty and hunger. His closest friend Max (James Woods) dreams bigger than petty crime, and there is also Deborah (Elizabeth McGovern), a girl from a better world who stirs in him a longing he cannot reach. Sergio Leone follows them across decades as memory and regret reshape what happened, ending on Noodles alone in a dimly lit room.
