Bill Marks (Liam Neeson), a Federal Air Marshal with a drinking problem, receives messages from someone on the plane: a passenger will die every twenty minutes unless a fortune is wired to an account. Marks hunts through the cabin and cockpit, trusting no one, while Jen Summers (Julianne Moore), seated near him, watches the spiral unfold. By the end of the flight, the only person Marks believes is her.
