Jimmy Markum (Sean Penn) wants to find who killed his daughter, and he'll use every connection he has in their Boston neighborhood to do it. When his childhood friend Dave Boyle (Tim Robbins) becomes a suspect, Jimmy pursues him with the certainty of a man who has already decided on the truth. What remains between them after is only damage.
