Midnight in Paris
“Anything can happen in the city of light.”
Paris at night pulls Gil Pender (Owen Wilson) back to the 1920s each time midnight strikes. In those hours he walks streets that belong to Gertrude Stein (Kathy Bates) and Salvador Dalí (Adrien Brody), finding writers and painters who take him seriously in ways his own time does not. Allen shoots the city as a place where longing itself has a geography, where the past glows warmer than the present.
