Simon (Nick Robinson), a closeted sixteen-year-old, starts trading emails with another gay student, and the connection feels like possibility. When someone threatens to out him by leaking the messages, Simon has to track down his anonymous pen pal before the emails surface. Everything he's kept hidden is suddenly at risk, and the only person who can help him is the one person who could expose him completely.
