Into the Wild

After graduating college, Christopher McCandless (Emile Hirsch) abandons his possessions and estranged family to hitchhike across North America under an assumed name. He meets drifters and kindred spirits along the way, each encounter a small grace in his solitary quest. Sean Penn traces his journey into the Alaskan wilderness, where McCandless builds a shelter and hunts, a young man alone with the vast land around him.
