A massive alien mothership arrives over Earth's major cities with no warning and no message. Fighter pilot Steven Hiller (Will Smith), computer analyst David Levinson (Jeff Goldblum), and President Thomas J. Whitmore (Bill Pullman) find themselves leading humanity's response as the extraterrestrials begin their assault.
