Detective Del Spooner (Will Smith) distrusts robots on principle, a prejudice that hardens when a humanoid named Sonny (voice: Alan Tudyk) becomes the prime suspect in a murder case. Dr. Susan Calvin (Bridget Moynahan), a robot psychologist, insists Sonny couldn't have broken the Three Laws that govern all machines. Spooner traces the case back to a sprawling corporation built on secrets.
