Koichi Shikishima (Ryunosuke Kamiki), a former kamikaze pilot, survives the war only to encounter a massive creature that emerges from the sea and levels everything in its path. Back on land, he carries the weight of missions he was sent on and missions he survived. Koichi finds himself bound to Noriko (Minami Hamabe), a woman who takes him in, and together they become the people each other needs.
