In a future where children are genetically engineered for perfection, Vincent Freeman (Ethan Hawke) was born by chance, his body marked as inferior. He assumes the identity of Jerome Eugene Morrow (Jude Law) to work at Gattaca, an aerospace corporation, while a murder investigation unfolds inside. Niccol shoots the sterile corridors and perfect faces in cool, precise light, building dread from the surfaces of things.
