Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks), an Alabama man with an IQ of 75, sits on a bench and tells a stranger the story of his life. His mother (Sally Field) told him he was no different from anyone else, and he believed her, moving through decades of American history. What matters most is not what Forrest accomplished, but that he showed up for the people he loved, and that sometimes the best way to live is to keep moving forward.
