Wendy Christensen (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) wants to capture a moment on her camera at the local amusement park, but a vision of the roller coaster derailing stops her cold. She pulls classmates from the ride before it crashes, convinced she has cheated death itself. Now the survivors begin to die in ways no accident could explain, and Wendy realizes that saving them only delayed what Death had already decided.
