Equilibrium

(2002)Directed by Kurt Wimmer107 min · RAction, Science Fiction, Thriller
In a future where freedom is outlawed, outlaws will become heroes.

In a future where emotion is criminalized, enforcement officer John Preston (Christian Bale) administers the drug that keeps the populace numb and compliant. When he misses a dose, feeling floods back, and he begins to see the regime's propaganda for what it is. The film argues that a world without feeling is not peace but death, and that to be human is to refuse numbness.
