“Dare to live.”

Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey), a Dallas electrician, is diagnosed with AIDS in 1985, given thirty days to live. He begins smuggling unapproved drugs into Texas, founding an underground buyers club to distribute them to other infected patients. What emerges is not a story of triumph, but of how necessity and compassion can live inside a man whom the world has already written off.
