Cruella

“Hello cruel world.”

Estella (Emma Stone) steals and cons her way up through the London fashion world of the 1970s, nursing a grudge against the Baroness (Emma Thompson), a ruthless designer who wronged her. She builds a crew with Jasper (Joel Fry) and Horace (Paul Walter Hauser), two small-time grifters. Gillespie dresses the film in acid colors and punk swagger, but what hardens Estella into Cruella is the hunger for revenge that devours everything else she might have become.
