Cher (Alicia Silverstone), a wealthy and confident high schooler in Beverly Hills, decides to give her new classmate Tai (Brittany Murphy) a complete makeover. She orchestrates Tai's transformation and plays matchmaker for everyone around her. But when Cher realizes she has feelings for her ex-stepbrother Josh (Paul Rudd), her carefully managed world tilts, and she learns that some things cannot be controlled or optimized.
