Cinema Paradiso

In a small Sicilian town after the war, the Cinema Paradiso is where the whole village gathers to escape. A boy named Salvatore (Salvatore Cascio) sneaks into the projection booth and befriends Alfredo (Philippe Noiret), the aging projectionist, who teaches him to read film the way others read books. Years pass, and Salvatore grows up in the glow of that booth, until the cinema and the man who runs it become inseparable from who he becomes.
