Children of Men
“The year 2027: the last days of the human race. No child has been born for 18 years. He must protect our only hope.”
In 2027, humans have been infertile for twenty years, and civilization is collapsing. Theo Faron (Clive Owen), a burnt-out government worker, is pulled into the orbit of a pregnant refugee named Kee (Clare-Hope Ashitey) and tasked with smuggling her to safety while soldiers and the state close in. Cuarón builds the film in long unbroken takes that trap you inside the panic, and by the end Theo has given everything he has.
