Blue Valentine

“A Love Story.”

Dean (Ryan Gosling) is a blue-collar laborer who once wooed Cindy (Michelle Williams) with genuine tenderness and an open heart. Now, years into their marriage with a daughter between them, the two sit in a motel room for what might be a last attempt at closeness. Cianfrance cuts between these present hours and the early days when they met, revealing how the same man's gentleness has curdled into resentment that Cindy can no longer reach.
