Jaime Reyes, a recent college graduate, wants to help his struggling family and find his place in the world. When an ancient alien device called the Scarab attaches itself to him, he gains superhuman armor and abilities he doesn't understand. Soto shoots the action with kinetic joy, ending on the glint of chitinous blue as Jaime learns what he has become.
