Alvy Singer (Woody Allen), a neurotic comedian in New York, has just broken up with Annie Hall (Diane Keaton) and can't stop replaying the relationship in his head. He rewinds through their first meeting, their dinners out, the weekend trips, trying to pinpoint where love curdled into incompatibility. By the end, he's accepted that some people simply don't fit, no matter how much you want them to.
