Octavio (Gael García Bernal) wants out of his barrio life and believes a street-racing win will buy his escape with his brother's wife, Susana (Vanessa Bauche). A car crash knots together the lives of a disabled man, a society woman, and a vagrant, each one caught in the wreckage of their own hunger.
