Dave (Jason Lee) lands in the hospital, leaving Alvin (voice: Justin Long), Simon (voice: Matthew Gray Gubler), and Theodore in the care of his uptight nephew Toby (Zachary Levi). The chipmunks cross paths with the Chipettes, a girl group with their own chaotic energy, and the two groups form an unlikely bond as they navigate music and mischief together. What starts as competition becomes friendship as they learn to get along.
