Violet (Elle Fanning) is counting down to the end of her senior year, grieving in private and planning nothing beyond it. On a school rooftop, she meets Finch (Justice Smith), a restless boy who seems determined to live every moment as if it might be his last. Together they drive across Indiana seeking out beautiful and forgotten places, but Violet discovers that Finch's hunger for life comes from a darker place than she understood.
