All Quiet on the Western Front

The Western Front, 1918: Paul Bäumer (Felix Kammerer) enlists with his school friends, convinced the war will be over by Christmas. Instead he arrives in the trenches to find mud and soldiers who measure survival in days, learning from his friend Kat (Albrecht Schuch) what it takes to stay alive. By the end, the cost is written on Paul's face, in the way he moves, in what he can no longer feel.
